We just wrapped up our Grant Writing Team lunch … and honestly … this one felt different in the best way ❤️ Great people … great food … and real forward motion for affordable housing in our region. Here’s what came out of today: ✅ Direct coordination with City leadership We shared updates from recent meetings with City Manager Todd, Planning Director Kim, and Public Works Director Ken. The focus is clear … move from talk to real housing solutions as fast as possible. ✅ Nonprofit launch in motion This Wednesday we have a consultation with a nonprofit specialist to begin formally establishing ʻOhana Mālama Lālama. This step opens the door to major grants, partnerships, and long-term funding. ✅ Massive grant pipeline identified A huge stack of foundation opportunities was reviewed and organized. Team members are now assigned specific grants to research, contact, and prepare for application. Real work is underway. ✅ Team is growing We had about six people today, with several more asking to join. Going forward, we will meet twice each month so more hands can help carry this forward. ✅ Next meetup before Community Dinner 📅 Saturday, March 14 🕔 Dinner at 5:00 PM 🕓 Grant Team gathering around 4:00–4:30 PM If you want to plug in … this is the easiest entry point. ✅ Big ideas on the table We talked zoning, land access, tiny homes, kit homes, and opportunities across Mount Shasta, Dunsmuir, Weed, and beyond.
