Despite all odds, we did manage to carefully carry out not 1 but 2 trips to Wales again this year. In trip 1, Holly and I do the obligatory Talyllyn journey amongst a thunderstorm in the railway's 1st week of reopening (in part 2 we visit in the last week before closure again!). The main star is Welsh Pony, which after an incredible overhaul steamed again in 2020 after an absense of over 80 years!! We see No.5 before it was fully lined and numbered in October, which you'll see in part 2. We also take a stroll through the beautiful Itallian-ate village of Portmerion, and then climb Snowdon on a miraculously clear day.
