The NBA got outta control last night with 2 insane comebacks, and we even saw tensions boiling over on the court. The madness started off in Chicago. And right from the jump, Philly made it rain from downtown. The Sixers led by Tyrese Maxey, shot the lights out in the 1st half, hitting 9 - 3’s on 60% efficiency, and built a 24 point lead midway through the 2nd period. And they kept their foot on the gas after the break as well, as Chicago couldn’t find an answer for the lightning quick Maxey. The NBA’s leading scorer put on a basketball clinic again, counting up to 39 in this game. So, down by 22 in the 3rd, the Bulls desperately needed a spark right then and there if they wanted to stay in the game. Josh Giddey ignited a little 7 to 2 run by himself to inject some confidence in his teammates, and then - they followed. Chicago tightened their defense to produce some easy points in transition, and now the crowd gets involved as well. An electric 19 to 6 run by the Bulls to cut the deficit to single digits. Now, everything’s possible in the final period. And they continued to build on the momentum. Nikola Vucevic woke up in the 4th quarter and got Chicago back to a 5 point margin. And in the clutch, he poked the ball from Embiid which resulted in 2 more points for Giddey on the other end. It’s on now! Josh gets jiggy with the basketball, and makes it a 1 point game. After setting the net on fire, the Sixers went ice cold in the 2nd half, and especially in the clutch. Maxey misses the 10th straight shot for Philly, and now with the entire arena on its feet, the Bulls have a chance to complete the comeback. Stacey King delivers another epic commentary! What more can I say!? Vooch gives Chicago the 1st lead of the game! Unbelievable. But, let’s see what the Sixers have drawn up during the timeout. Grimes gets a great open look up top but fails to hit the game winner, and the Bulls celebration can begin! What a wild comeback. I can’t give enough praise to Josh Giddey though, who balled out once again with 29 points, 15 boards and 12 assists. And I gotta give huge praise to Karlo Matkovic as well, for bringing the BOOM in the absence of Zion. OH! MY! GOODNESS! We have a new Croatian sensation! Karlo Matkovic absolutely destroyed the rim in the 1st quarter, getting everybody off their seats.
