Shots fired inside, outside venue in Cincinnati; 9 injured

Nine people were injured in a shooting early Sunday at a venue in Cincinnati’s East End, police said. The shooting occurred around 1 a.m. at Riverfront Live, near the intersection of Kellogg Avenue and Wilmer Avenue. UC says they have eight patients total from this – two were treated and released, five are stable, and one that is critical. Police have not released any info on suspects. The investigation is ongoing. Cincinnati mayor Aftab Pureval released a statement on Facebook, saying "Overnight in the East End, our community was victim to a senseless mass shooting. Thank you to the officers on site, the first responders for their immediate action, and all the hospital staff who worked to save lives this morning. This is unconscionable. Our prayers are with all the victims, and Law Enforcement has our full support to deliver justice. We will continue to keep the public up to date." A band, Solid Gold Dancer, was playing at Murray's Tavern on Kellogg Avenue nearby when they heard the commotion outside. "We saw a bunch of people running from this side of the building while we were out on a break in between sets," said band member Sam Steinher. "At first, we didn't realize the severity of the situation. But someone said that people had been firing shots off." "Depending on the genre of the show, that venue has attracted violence in the past," he continued. "But we've never ever seen something like this happen before. There's been fights back there before or police presence, but I couldn't imagine something like this happening."
