This is John Romero's Sigil running in DOS on a 486 with a Roland SC-55 for MIDI sound. Sigil available here: https://www.romerogames.ie/si6il For those who don't have context, Sigil is a new mod for the original 1993 Doom to add a 5th episode to the game by one of the original developers. This isn't a how-to video, but all you really need to know is Sigil causes a Visplane overflow in original versions of Doom. There is a modded version of Doom Ultimate to add the 5th Episode: https://www.doomworld.com/forum/topic... Boom also fixes this problem, works in DOS, and supports a Sound Blaster and MPU-401 output: https://www.doomworld.com/idgames/the... . Using Boom on DOS with the original hardware pretty much "Just Works™" once you figure out the weird config program. I haven't had a chance to actually play this yet, I kinda wanted this setup to be how I played it for the first time since that just feels right. This is a sneak peak at my upcoming DOS PC build. I got this working and was rather pleased, so you can consider this a teaser for that video when it's ready.
