Can a 6-year-old and her dad actually grow a spring garden from scratch with just tomato, corn, okra, and pea seeds in coco coir pellets? Let's find out! Hi everyone, I'm super excited to be here today with my lovely daughter, Legaci. We're going to start an amazing spring garden together. We've got a variety of seeds to plant - tomatoes, corn, okra, and peas. And we're using coco coir soil, which is perfect for starting seeds. Gardening with some 6-year-olds can be a bit challenging, I won't lie. But Legaci here has a super attentive attention span when it comes to garden 😊, and but i expect we'll be cleaning up a lot of mess today it's cool tho . All that matters is going she has funt. And using coco coir soil might be a bit unconventional, but it's really good for seedlings. The great thing about coco coir is that it retains water really well, and it's a great alternative to traditional soil. Legaci loves getting her hands dirty, and I love watching her learn and grow. Let's get started with the tomatoes. Legaci, can you help me dig a little hole for this seed? Okay, great job, Legaci. Now we're going to add a little bit of water to the coco coir to make it easier to plant. Look at how easily the seed goes in. Next up is the corn. Can you help me count out how many seeds we need to plant? One, two, or three... That's right, Legaci, we need to plant two or three seeds per hole. As we're planting, I want to show you guys how easy it is to get started with coco coir. It's really a great medium for seedlings. And Legaci is doing a fantastic job helping me. She's learning so much already. Look at her go, she's a natural. One of the funniest things about gardening with kids is watching them get excited about the little things. Like, Legaci just found a rolly polly in the soil out back, and she's totally fascinated by it. I love seeing her explore and learn. And I have to say, I'm loving the quality time we're spending together. As we finish up planting seeds in pellets , I want to show you guys a quick time-lapse of us planting the rest of the seeds. It's going to be amazing to see how quickly everything comes together. And I'm excited to share another years garden journey with you guys. We've finally finished starting half of our spring garden. I'm super excited to see everything grow. We've got tomatoes, corn, okra, and peas all planted in coco coir soil. It was such a fun day with Legaci, and I'm so glad we got to spend this quality time together. If you guys have any experience gardening with kids, please share it with us in the comments below.
