✨In this video: This is the second part of my journey from Lyon to Nice. Along the way, I stopped at a service area to stretch my legs and freshen up before continuing on. It was the perfect chance to finally enjoy the bread and pastries I picked up earlier, a simple yet satisfying treat on the road. Feeling recharged, I got back behind the wheel, ready to complete the final stretch toward Nice, with the scenic drive still unfolding before me. 📌 Overview Earlier this summer, I went on a two month road trip across Europe, starting in Italy and traveling through Switzerland, France, Andorra, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. It was an incredible journey filled with breathtaking views, small-town charm, and plenty of lessons learned along the way. Planning a road trip can feel overwhelming like figuring out where to stop, finding parking, and making the most of your time. In this video, I’ll share tips to help you avoid parking hassles, discover great picnic spots, and make time for those spontaneous detours to explore hidden gems. At the heart of it, road trips are about crafting moments that are uniquely your own. You might notice in the video that the car windows aren’t always spotless. Keeping the car clean during a long road trip turned out to be harder than I expected. Weather conditions, dusty roads, and occasional rain quickly left water spots and streaks. While I tried to clean them whenever I could, the glass cleaner I had wasn’t very effective, and time constraints didn’t always allow for a proper clean. These little details are part of the reality of road trips, and I appreciate your understanding as you watch the video. 📅 Why Summer Summer was the perfect season for a road trip. The vibrant energy of bustling streets, outdoor markets, music festivals, and lively cafes added extra charm to every destination. The warm weather made driving more comfortable, especially on breezy mountain roads or with air-conditioned pit stops. Longer daylight hours gave us the freedom to slow down and truly enjoy the journey. We could explore at a relaxed pace, make spontaneous stops whether for a lakeside picnic, a detour to a hidden gem, or to soak in a stunning sunset without feeling rushed. 🚗 Why Drive in Europe Driving in Europe offers a sense of freedom and convenience that’s hard to beat. Thanks to the Schengen Agreement, crossing borders between most European countries was seamless, no long lines, no extra paperwork, just smooth driving. This allowed us to plan a multi-country itinerary without worrying about border delays. But beyond logistics, driving gave us the flexibility to explore at our own pace. We weren’t tied to train schedules or limited to places with public transport access. We could take scenic detours, stop wherever we wanted, and fully immerse ourselves in the journey. From winding mountain roads to quiet countryside trails, driving allowed us to experience Europe in a way no other mode of travel could. Of course, there were challenges like figuring out parking, navigating narrow streets, and keeping up with traffic rules in different countries. But these were all part of the adventure, and overcoming them made the trip even more rewarding. If you’ve ever dreamed of exploring Europe with the freedom to go where the road takes you, I can’t recommend it enough.
