The Golden Peak T-Bar at Vail Resort Colorado, is a great little lift that services a newer part of Vail that is usually not open often to the public. The Golden Peak T-Bar is designed specifically for the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) athletes, coaches, and staff, and it serves as a dedicated training facility for ski racing, providing access to the top of Golden Peak for high-level alpine training. The area where the T-Bar operates on was built and constructed just for SSCV, and when it debuted in 2019, there were three new trails that went along with it. All three trails are of single black (advanced) proficiency, and are named (from left to right) Golden Peak Race, Fall Line, and G.S Alley. As part of the Forest Service’s agreement to allow Vail Mountain to expand its boundaries by 68 acres, this is the reason why on one day a week (usually Friday of every week) the T-Bar must be open to the public. The Golden Peak T-Bar was Vail’s first expansion since Blue Sky Basin in 1999, and added 42 acres of new terrain when it opened in 2019. The T-Bar itself is a fairly common Doppelmayr 2-SL model, and is actually quite steep throughout its entire length, especially just near the top unload. From the top of the lift, there are some amazing viewpoints of Vail Resort's frontside, which includes the Highline and Northwoods areas, bits and pieces of the Mountaintop area, and Lionshead and Vail Village areas.
