Old Fashioned Baked Custard | Old School Recipes #9 This Easy Baked Egg Custard is not only a delicious comfort food but it is also a great way to use up milk! It is a rich, smooth and creamy custard that requires just a few ingredients. This is a recreation of my Great Grandma's recipe that my mom used to make when I was growing up. I didn't have the recipe in front of me so I made it based off of memory and it came out great! #oldschoolrecipes #oldfashionedbakedcustard #eggcustard Ingredients: 6 eggs 4 cups milk 2/3 cup sugar 1-2 tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp salt nutmeg cinnamon Whisk eggs together in a large bowl. Add in salt, vanilla and sugar and mix together well. Heat milk and slowly pour into egg mixture while stirring. Pour into oven safe dish (I used two 1 qt crocks). Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon. Put about an inch of hot water in the bottom of another oven safe dish to create a water bath. Place dish with custard in the water bath and bake at 350 F for 45-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
