Nikon Z5ii Video test! Overall, a Great experience, I Need a little more practice exposing N log properly. I was really impressed with the low light capability of this camera. I also got to film my first wedding at 24 Fps and I must admit, I'm in love with this style of wedding video. I only used one lens which was the Viltrox 15 mm 1.7 this lens is a banger! must have for your aps-c camera! This lens lives on my Nikon z30 but I wanted to experiment today and use it on the z5ii to stay as light as possible for this 8-hour service. As far as exposing the N-Log. I found that the view assist really did help me preview what my footage was looking like. Its sometimes hard to tell if you are blowing out the highlights while looking at the screen in daylight. I used the waveform monitor to help correctly expose the image and stayed at the 2 Native ISO's of 800 and 6400. I made a mistake in the beginning and tried to stay at ISO 800 in the Room where the groom was getting ready which was really dark. I Switched to ISO 6400 and couldn't believe how good the image looked! I'm not used to Using an ISO that high and not seeing a super grainy image. I did use a gimbal for some of these shots and did shoot some handheld. I want to warn you about the stabilization of this camera. While shooting handheld the image is not very stable. You can turn on the stabilization features, and the image is stable, but a weird wavy thing happens, and the footage is pretty much unusable. The Nikon Z5ii is not a camera for run and gun vlogging in my opinion. The footage is too shaky, and the camera is also a little big for that kind of filming when there are better options out there for vlogging. The camera works great however on a gimbal or tripod for video. I'm a hybrid shooter and was looking for a good option for both photo and video so I ended up choosing the Nikon z5ii and look forward to exploring and pushing its capabilities to the limit in both photo and video. Thank you so much for watching!
