There’s something interesting happening across the western media that you may not have noticed. South Africa presented their case against Israel at the International Court of Justice in The Hague on January 11, 2024. The country’s legal team accused Israel of committing genocide against the people of Gaza. But during the presentation, the western media decided to ignore the South African presentation, but hypocritically turning around and broadcasting the Israeli presentation the following day. I have learned a lot since I started following international politics, and one thing I have come to understand as a person who holds morality and principle in high esteem is that we have been deceived when it comes to western principles, morality, and human rights. We were painted this beautiful portrait about western countries and how they applied moral principles to all their doings and how we should look up to them and apply their way of doing things to our daily activities. Even though we already know the standing of many western countries concerning the conflict between Israel and Palestine, we were not expecting any biased coverage toward this particular hearing. We wanted fair coverage to establish the truth about this significant case. The western media can’t keep on deceiving the world any longer because the era of social media has changed the narratives, and the western media no longer control how we see things. The dice has turned, and the earlier the western countries realize this, the better for us all. Just look around you; every social media platform you switched to is full of countries staging protests in support of Palestinians. We’re seeing clear 360-degree video or images highlighting the atrocities and indescribable genocidal acts causing by the Israel Defense Force. We’re all serving as witnesses in our own way or other in this case because we’ve witnessed every goddamn thing. South Africa may lose the case because the majority of these institutions are controlled by western powers, but this Gaza event has gone a long way toward enlightening the world's critical thinkers. Initially, we should have sat on our sofas at home, turned on our TV, watched this western media propaganda, and gone on our knees to pray for Israel for these atrocities that have been melted at them by Hamas, and later cheered them on when they released hellfire on Gaza. Luckily enough, social media has also exposed how Israel Defends Force finds it satisfying to kill children and bomb hospitals and mosques. Israeli citizens have come on social media platforms to share their everlasting hatred for Palestinian people. They sometimes go as far as showing how they’re living a luxurious life while the people of Gaza rot in hell during the festive season. I once stated in one of my videos that the Israel and Palestinian conflict used to be viewed more on religious grounds than humanitarian grounds, and someone like me who used to be a great crusader of religion, especially Christian beliefs, was always on the Israel side because western media has always told the story, and those were the ones we watched. Today, social media has given us the opportunity to get first-hand information from different angles, so don’t ever think you can still dictate the narratives. Humans have become wiser, and we can now smell the truth from the lies. As a young African upcoming filmmaker, I used to believe that staying indigenous and portraying the underdeveloped side of my country was the only way to be able to step on the international stage. I had this perception because, growing up, I realized filmmakers who were receiving accolades from western organizations through filmmaking were directors or producers who perfectly portrayed the bad side of our history or stories that put Africa on a dark road. It has been this way for centuries, so the majority of westerners have always viewed Africa and Africans as uncivilized and underdeveloped continents with no iota of reasoning. Now let me advise African religious or political zombies that not everything that is thrown at you by the western media should be consumed because they always set the agenda and make sure we accept and consume without giving us options to verify. We've got to recalibrate our way of consuming western news because it has always been about them being in the limelight and others being in the dim light. Africa has gotten our fair share of negative reporting, so we understand what is happening at the Hague. #hague #southafrica #israel #usa Social Media Twitter : / uncutafricalive Facebook : / uncutafricalive Instagram : / uncutafricalive Tumblr : https://www.tumblr.com/blog/uncutafri...
