My Subalpine Fir Bonsai Collection

A look a most of my subalpine fir bonsai collection. I think I have enough of these bonsai. There are a few more I didn’t show, still in development or just not that impressive yet. When I find an amazing subalpine fir I’ll acquire it but for now I’m focusing on other bonsai tree species. I’m still trying to figure out how best to prune and keep these subalpine bonsai trimmed and compact. In finding that it’s the stunted tree or ones that aren’t as vigorous that are staying compact, then in do all this work and the bonsai tree become healthy and then really pushes out strong growth. So it’s a process of me learning how to slow the tree down while keeping it healthy. I’m imagining a lot of hard pruning and forcing it to back bud and of course even smaller pots with less organic soil. My bonsai trees are healthy, maybe too healthy to keep them contained into shape. Anyways thanks for watching and go bonsai
