The Counter Terrorism Service is a specialized operations unit within the military forces of Iraq. Established in 2007, the agency traces its origins back to 1950 but was reconstituted from scratch by the United States federal government following the 2003 U.S. invasion. Initially known as the Iraqi Special Operations Forces (ISOF) in Arabic as قوات العمليات الخاصة العراقية, the forces are overseen by the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service and include the Iraqi Counter Terrorism Command, which is comprised of three subordinate brigades. Day 1: TACTICAL Event The Tactical Event is a lightning-fast, six(6) member event that demands a high level of team communication & marksmanship to beat the clock. Quick thinking & movement will win the day in this Event. Rules: 1、From the Start/Finish position on the command ™GO∫, the sniper will run up the tower to the SFP#1. The assault team will stay at the Start/Finish position. Once the sniper reaches SFP, he will engage a designated target with one (1) round. He can then proceed back to the finish line. 2、From the Start/Finish position only after the sniper shot, the assault team will run to the front door of the shooting house. Once all 5 members have reached the front door of the shooting house, they will don their gas masks. 3、Once all 5 members have donned their Gas masks, the breacher will breach the front door using the pre-position Ram. 4、All members will then run into the Shooting House to their individual shooting positions. Each member will be presented with Shoot and no-shoot targets in each shooting position. No handgun will be drawn from its holster until the team member has reached his individual shooting position. Format: The challenge consisted of five categories, testing global teams in diverse tactical scenarios within the Dubai SWAT Training Facility's world-class environment. Significance: This event symbolized Dubai's commitment to the highest standards in policing. It offered a unique platform for showcasing the skills of elite policing professionals and encouraged collaboration, idea exchange, and mutual respect in the law enforcement community. Impact: The UAE SWAT Challenge aimed to enhance global law enforcement practices by promoting cooperation and sharing best practices among SWAT teams worldwide.
