I embarked on a walking safari across Bardiya National Park over 2-days myself and a guide - and a stick to protect ourselves. There are wild tigers, elephants, rhinos roaming the park that you could come into close contact with at any given moment. It is a exhilarating and vulnerable experience knowing you have very little protection against these mighty beasts. I stayed in Thakudwara where there are dozens of hotels / shacks to stay in.
