A remix of Tape's theme from Paper Mario: The Origami King! Enjoy! PIANO TUTORIAL VIDEO THAT I WATCHED FOR THE NOTES: • 【ペーパーマリオオリガミキング】セロハンテープ戦BGM ピアノアレンジ【The Or... (it's also in my Good Songs playlist!) SECRET MELODIES IN THE ORDER THAT THEY PLAY: 1. "Vs. Zero Two" from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards 2. "The Royal Theme" (Original Leitmotif) THOUGHT PROCESS: The original version of Tape's theme is very electric guitar-heavy. While this in and of itself is not a bad thing, I don't like electric guitars because I find them to be a tad too noisy. (Also, all of the guitar soundfonts I have at my disposal are nowhere near as good as a real electric guitar.) So instead of making the song go hard with intense instruments, I made it go just as hard with soft instruments like piano! I wanted a tough, powerful song (like King Dedede's theme from the Kirby series) as a secret melody, but nothing sounded good. Finally, I settled on Zero Two's theme, even though it makes no thematical sense, at all. LOCALIZATION GOSSIP: (Note that I saw fanart on Pixiv before I saw the actual game, so my reaction to the English localization is a bit strange as a result.) Tape is actually pretty similar between the English and Japanese versions! In both versions, they talk like a gangster/delinquent (the latter vibe is stronger, at least for me, in the Japanese version.) However, their "Ehhhhh, fuhgeddaboudit" line is not present in the Japanese version; their line (poorly translated) is more like "I wonder if I'm..." and then they die. (There are many things that they could has said after their thought trails off, I've seen a theory that they're trying to say smth like "I wonder if I'm weird (for asking Olly to avenge me)". My personal idea is that they're trying to say "I wonder if I'm dying", since no one really knows what dying is like until they're actually doing the thing. Just my opinion, though.) Tape's first-person pronoun in the Japanese version is オレっち ("orecchi"; same as Punch but the spelling is a little bit different, though otherwise the same)
