This video was produced by Chicago Business Affairs and Consumer Production (BACP) on one of our lovely clients, Thai Pastry! "This episode of Behind the Business License highlights the Asia on Argyle corridor in Uptown. Located near the Argyle Red Line Stop, Asia on Argyle is a lively cultural hub celebrated for its authentic Southeast Asian cuisines and diverse array of locally owned businesses. Often referred to as Little Saigon or New Chinatown, the area underwent a transformation in the 1970s, spurred by refugees from Vietnam and Cambodia and Chinese entrepreneurs. In this episode, we visit Thai Pastry, a beloved spot along the Asia on Argyle corridor. Thai Pastry has recently relocated to a larger location at 1113 W Argyle Ave. Siblings Treetip Intarakhao and "Joe" Taweechai Sukjam, originally from Khon Kaen in Northeastern Thailand, have crafted a dining experience that doubles as a convenient stop for morning commuters seeking their famous grab-and-go pastries. As you explore Asia on Argyle, you'll also have the chance to admire the vibrant art murals that enhance the area. The newly redesigned shared-street layout of Argyle Avenue enables businesses to establish sidewalk cafes and creates additional space for hosting street festivals such as the Argyle Night Market, which draws over 40,000 visitors each year. Director Chettha Saetia from the Chinese Mutual Aid Association also joins us to discuss the success of these initiatives and the role his NBDC plays in supporting small businesses along the Asia on Argyle corridor."
