Truck Camping in a State Forest Turned into a Dumping Ground.

This week's video I found a beautiful boondocking spot In a Minnesota State Forest. This was a gem of a camping spot. It was on top of a hill with lakes on both sides. I didn't have another dispersed location around me for miles. As usual, human behavior had disappointed me. This spot was trashed! There was garbage everywhere. I couldn't believe how someone could disrespect such a beautiful location. There was a really nice level spot for the truck camper on the hill, the road in was steep and there wasn't much of a turn around. Because it's tricky to get in this is my kind of dispersed camping / boondocking location. Unfortunately, there was a heavy weight in the air that made this place feel a little creepy. The ground was littered with toilet paper, alcohol bottles, beer cans, kids' toys, car parts and everything in-between. It's possible that someone had been squatting there last year for the entire summer. It was depressing as much as it was beautiful. I knew that I had to clean it up. I sent Mandi my GPS coordinates. When she got off work, she brought out the big 30-gallon leaf bags, and we went to work! In total we pick up 11 bags of trash plus household hold goods to large to fit into bags and automotive parts including a car door. The next morning, I woke up and I could feel the mood in the air was lifted. The birds were singing louder, the air smelled better, the sun shined brighter. The depressing feeling was gone. The creepiness that once weighed heavy in the air had been lifted. I will definitely be back to this spot to make sure it doesn't happen again.
