This is due to the biomechanical complexity of the sciatic nerve and the tremendous torsional forces traversing the pelvis and lumbar spine during daily activities. The problem I often encounter when assessing buttocks pain is symptom overlap, which can make pinpointing the exact location difficult and unreliable. In this video, I demonstrate a Myoskeletal Alignment Technique for Backward Sacral Torsion and Hip Bursitis. People with backward sacral torsions from bending and twisting will experience pain and you want to keep that consistent pressure. First start with internal femoral rotation and then get on top, right on it, then bring leg into external femoral rotation. Then drop down to trochanter where the gluteus medius minimus come in, to loosen around what may be causing deep gluteal syndrome, which is any place in the hip where they may be sciatic nerve entrapment.
