😄 How I got 1,500,000+ subscribers so you can just copy me): https://magnatesmedia.com (click here now to join my YouTube mastermind group & claim your spot!) How to get more loyal customers, and turn customers into loyal fans of your business who keep coming back and purchasing more. To answer this, we're looking at Amazon as a case study, as Jeff Bezos has created an army of loyal customers who always buy from Amazon! What lessons we can take to increase our own customer loyalty, and get more repeat customers and sales. We'll be considering customer service, the effects of a loyalty subscription service like Prime, and simplifying the buying process. Subscribe + Turn On The Notification Bell For More Episodes! I used to be a thrifty shopper who looked for deals, now I just buy from amazon. And this reached a climax the other day where I actually already knew something was slightly cheaper from another site, and yet I still bought from amazon. So, why did I do that and what lessons can all businesses take from Amazon to create such loyal customers? Well, number one is that offering remarkable customer service isn’t ‘nice’, it’s just good business sense. It has been proven time and time again that it’s easier to keep existing customers than get new customers. And ‘good’ customer service is now just the minimum to not get ranted at on social media, going above and beyond what’s expected is how to make a customer loyal to you. With Amazon, I know if there’s ever a problem with an order, I know I can contact their live chat 24/7 and get a free refund or a replacement with no real questions asked, even months after a purchase. And they definitely lose money on how generous their customer service can be sometimes - but, because I have that peace of mind using them, I normally always shop with them, and so they make that money back from me in no time. The second reason Amazon is winning in terms of creating loyal customers is their Prime membership. Now, Amazon actually LOSE money on free next day delivery Prime shipping. And yet, according to Bloomberg it’s, "the most ingenious and effective customer loyalty program in all of e-commerce, if not in retail in general," Why? Well, what they’ve found is that people who pay them for a prime subscription, then spend even more money with them, partly because they feel like now they’ve got the subscription they should use it, but also because you very quickly get used to that free next day delivery, and so suddenly having wait 3 business days from a competitor seems like an eternity. In fact, statistics by Business Insider show that whilst the average normal customer spends $600 a year with Amazon, the average prime customer spends an average of $1,400 a year with Amazon. And so, once people are into that Prime eco system, it just becomes a habit to make Amazon your go-to place to shop, and because they sell pretty much everything, it’s very difficult for other sites to compete. The third reason Amazon is winning in terms of creating loyal customers is how ridiculously easy they make the buying process. The more steps involved in buying something, the less likely someone is to buy. So guess what amazon created, one-click purchases. It couldn’t be much simpler to buy something from them. But then they took it even further. They created dash buttons, so you didn’t even need to be on a computer to re-order a product, you could just press a button in your house and have an item shipped to you when you needed it. These are now being replaced by their alexa voice home assistant, so you can literally order without any clicks, and just ask alexa to buy something for you. The less friction there is in the buying process, the less resistance you’ll have from customers in buying something. And the more likely they are to make impulse purchases. So the question becomes: how can we all simplify the buying process for our customers? Because once they know it’s so straight forward, they’ll buy more, and keep coming back.
