I bought this light weight compact aluminum tripod for my bridge Kodak Z990 digital camera and Flip Mino HD camcorder. It comes with a quick release plate. You can buy extra release plate for about $11 on Ebay. I'd have prefer they include an extra release plate with the tripod. You operate the tripod with the help of a pistol grip and rubber wheel which serves to lock the tripod head into position. The height with the center crank extended is about 5' 6". The tension levers are plastic and the rubber wheel are the weak parts. Time will tell as to the durability. Light weight and steady. It comes in two colors. Black and greyish brown. Can't ask for more in an inexpensive tripod.
