In this video I'm setting up Aaron's Harley Benton CST 24 - a very capable PRS-style copy. It was suffering from a refusal to stay in tune (partly due to a poor nut and partly due to too much slack in the strings) and a little choking on high E bends... but generally not bad. The tuners are disappointingly gritty and the less said about that ridiculous bridge the better. To anyone who has never actually tried to adjust it, it appears to make sense: "Ah, look, an adjustable er... bit where the B and G strings go...that will help er... intonation or something right... I mean if you have a wound G or something?" But when you take the time to actually look at it for more than 5 seconds you realise that it does...well, nothing. You can slightly move it forwards or backwards but since it will move both the B and the G together you're never going to want to do that. Maybe you can reverse it or something to convert your 'pre-compensation' from 3 plain, 3 wound to 2 plain, 4 wound string sets? No. It's not designed to be removed or turned around. So it's a pointless piece of design by someone who couldn't even be bothered to think the piece through.. or test it in earnest... or ask any player whether this removable / movable saddle pair would be of any value. Totally infuriating.
