3D Review: Cars 2 (2011)

Continuing my drive through the Cars universe. Cars 2 I guess this is the movie that really expanded Cars into a universe. Where the first one focused on sentient cars, this one opens up into a world where anything with a motor is alive. It's tailor made for spin-offs, video games and toys. Not a complaint, I enjoyed this movie. A big surprise is they make Mater the lead character. Which was not only fun, but very interesting to see their friendship from his point of view. Looking from the standpoint of 2021 I think its the weakest stereo of the five Car universe movies. The 3D though is good for the year it came out in. It may be the best stereo picture of 2011. I believe this was only the third Pixar film that had a first release in 3D. So its not flawed at all, just a product of its time.
