Chancel Choir of 18 singers this day (5/3/15), though only a few are visible. A soli quartet starts the anthem, and returns briefly at the end. The recording is made on poor equipment and is too close to the chancel for full balance. But… this is a wonderfully affirmative classic anthem that really should be better known! Text below (Psalm 34: 8-10): "O taste, and see, how gracious the Lord is: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. O fear the Lord, ye that are his saints: for they that fear him lack nothing. The lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they who seek the Lord shall want no manner of thing that is good. O taste, and see, how gracious the Lord is: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." Director of Music Karen Hindenlang is organ accompanist; guest conductor is Crawford R. Thoburn.
