Watch a unique artist instructor collaboration as flameworker Stephen Brucker, glassblower Cat Burns, and kiln caster Richard Whiteley demonstrate for their classes at The Studio. Brucker and Whiteley will create flameworked and kiln formed elements that Burns will pick up and manipulate on a blown object in the hot shop. Cat Burns Cat Burns is a defiant artist who uses flamboyant, sarcastic humor to illustrate her internal narrative. She cultivates her work very slowly and uses it as a visual diary, creating audacious visuals as a way of communicating and synthesizing the often perplexing, manic experience of living with depression. https://www.cmog.org/bio/cat-burns Stephen Brucker Stephen is the Manager of the Community Programs Team at The Studio where he manages the artist-in-residence, Group Glassmaking, and At-Risk Youth programs. He operates his flameworking studio in Camillus, New York, and exhibits his work throughout the Northeast. https://www.cmog.org/bio/stephen-brucker Richard Whiteley Whiteley has spent his life working with glass, developing a fascination for the material when he began apprenticing in stained glass at the age of 16. His work focuses primarily on kiln-cast glass and explores voids as the primary constructive agent. https://www.cmog.org/bio/richard-whit...
