The true final battle. And once again, his team depends on your starter. He'll always make sure to have a grass, fire & water type on his team so each of their weaknesses are covered somehow. While he keeps his Alakazam for this team, he replaces Pidgeot & Heracross & Rhydon with Tyranitar. Heracross is arguably the easiest to deal with since it has a 4 times weakness to flying & you probably have a psychic type with you. And if you started with Bulbasaur or Squirtle, you're probably using it to fight right now. But even still, its moveset isn't laughable; Earthquake which is blindingly powerful, Rock Tomb which can slow you down & Megahorn which can be DEVASTATING! Counter can also make or break your battle if you use a phsical attack, so using Psychic moves will render it useless. Heracross is the 1st Pokemon he sends out & it can really rough you up if not prepared properly. Alakazam is slightly easier due to no longer having Future Sight or recover, but is still the hardest to deal with since it knows Reflect which lessens physical damage, bad for bug & ghost types. While Shadow Ball can also decrease your special defense which can leave ou even more vulnerable to Psychic. ESPECIALL if he uses Calm Mind Your best option is to poison or burn him, but do it with a Pokemon that won't get poisoned or burned itself since Alakazam has the Synchronize ability too. Finally, is Tyranitar who summons an instant Sand Storm when it's out. While Venusaur or Blastoise can still take care of it with relative ease, it counters them both with Aerial Ace & Thunderbolt. That, combined with Crunch & Earthquake makes him quite a formidable foe. If you chose Bulbasaur, like I did, his fire type would be Charizard. It's slightly easier to deal with Charizard due to its 4 times weakness to Rock, but it's still NO joke as it's Fire Blast can hurt you VERY badly if it hits, especially if it burns you. It also knows Aerial Ace which never misses. He also replaced Slash with Dragon Claw, but worst yet: He knows EARTHQUAKE! This can be a HUGE counter to rock types, so just bring along a water type & you'll be fine. For his Water type, if you didn't choose Squirtle, you'd be facing Gyarados which has a 4 times weakness to Electric. Aside from Hydro Pump, Gary's Gyarados uses a similar strategy to Lance with Dragon Dance, Earthquake & Hyper Beam! So you better hope you can outspeed & OHKO it with a Thunderbolt or else you'll likely get taken down. And finally, his grass type, which in this case, is Exeggutor. Since his weaknesses are mostly special attacks, he'll likely use Light Screen, which increases special defense. And Giga Drain can not only devastate you, but it can also make sure that Exeggutor stays in the fight at all times, which gets worse if combined with Sleep Powder, leaving you unable to do ANYTHING. On top of that, he replace Egg Bomb with Psychic, making him an even BIGGER threat! But no matter what his last 3 Pokemon are, this will be a fight of a lifetime! Get in there & give it your all!!
