[Step 1 – How the Automation Works] We don’t use LinkedIn’s API or manual scraping at all. Instead, we embed a WhatsApp chatbot where you can simply send a message like: “Scrape LinkedIn CEOs in San Francisco.” [Step 2 – Google Custom Search API (The Secret Sauce)] The system uses Google’s Custom Search API, which is completely free. This API lets you search LinkedIn profiles via Google something most people don’t know about! For example, the bot sends a query like: “Marketing Director site:linkedin.com” It then paginates through multiple result pages, extracting data like names, titles, profile links, and descriptions. [Step 3 – Structuring the Data in Google Sheets] Once the bot pulls LinkedIn profile data, it structures it neatly in Google Sheets. Each entry includes: • Name • Title • Description • Profile Link • Image (if available) This clean format makes it super easy to use later for outreach or CRM imports. [Step 4 – Pagination & Policy Compliance] To stay within Google and LinkedIn’s policies, the workflow processes about 10 results per page, up to 100 leads per run. A built-in Wait Node ensures smooth processing and prevents Google API limits from triggering. [Step 5 – Full Automation Flow] Once one page is processed, n8n’s pagination logic calculates the next batch automatically. If there are more pages to scrape, the bot loops back and continues until it hits the set limit all on autopilot.
