Jack Early Park (North Beach) +Instead of joining everyone else at the popular Coit Tower, head a few blocks north and enjoy a more private experience of San Francisco views at the hidden Jack Early Park. To access Jack Early Park, take a subtle staircase located off of Grant Avenue in North Beach that leads to the park’s viewing platform. At the top of Jack Early Park, enjoy views of the Bay Bridge, Treasure Island and the San Francisco Bay. Keep in mind that Jack Early Park is small, so be sure to check for anyone before you head up. 2. Russian Hill-Vallejo Crest (Russian Hill) +Elevated on a crest above Jones Street in the Russian Hill Neighborhood of San Francisco, the best access point to this hidden park is at the corner of Jones Street and Vallejo Street. Walk up the enclosed stairs of the concrete barrier from Jones street to continue up onto the elevated portion of Vallejo Street. The end of Vallejo Street features great views of San Francisco Bay, North Beach and the East Bay. 3. Seward Mini Park (Eureka Valley) +Seward Mini Park is known amongst locals as a spot to enjoy the novelty of concrete slides. Enjoy the slides like a local and use a piece of cardboard to slide down Seward’s concrete beauties. Keep in mind the slides are closed on Mondays. After you’ve enjoyed the concrete slides, don’t miss the park’s community garden and hidden views of San Francisco. 4. Mount Olympus (Ashbury Heights) +Mount Olympus is an isolated area hidden at the top of the winding streets of Ashbury Heights that was once considered the geographical center of San Francisco. While its panoramic views are now slightly blocked by trees and housing, Mount Olympus still makes for a hidden escape to take in fresh air high above the city’s hustle and bustle. 5. Billy Goat Hill (Diamond Heights / Glen Park) +Hidden between the residential neighborhoods of Diamond Heights and Glen Park, Billy Goat Hill also offers beautiful views of both Downtown San Francisco and residential San Francisco. Be sure to explore the small network of hiking trails to enjoy the views. 6. Cottage Row Mini Park (Japantown) +Located in Japantown, Cottage Row Mini Park is a hidden green space surrounded by classic Victorian Architecture San Francisco houses from the 1800’s. The hidden, brick-lined walkway connects the entrances from Bush Street and Sutter Street and leads to the low-key, relaxing mini park to escape the urban busyness of the city. 7. Fay Park (Russian Hill) +While you could get romantic about San Francisco’s beauty after checking out the first 6 parks, you might be a witness to love when visiting the final hidden gem on our list - Fay Park.
