The great Grenadian -born poet Abdul Malik [Delano De Coteau] has died in England. He was a major poet and activist of the 1970 Black Power Revolution in Trinidad and Tobago and was detained on Nelson Island, along with Makandal Daaga, George Weekes and other leaders, during the State of Emergency. In England, he took part in the International Poetry Evenings held by the International Book Fair of Radical Black and Third World Books organised by New Beacon/Bogle/Race Today. He lived for many years in Brixton, England.
