Water is below our only cave shelter on Mars… but one wrong drill angle could turn the roof into a trapdoor. In this POV GoPro episode, a 24-hour countdown begins as warning beeps spike, regolith trembles, and the cave seam is monitored for collapse. We mark a safe zone, set stakes A/B/C, detect a dangerous hollow void near Point C, then offset 4 meters and drill at 15° to keep the cave roof untouched. Cuttings darken, resistance dips, and Mars dust jams the coupling—so we build a “dust-lock” micro clean-room to save the threads. Condensation finally forms: droplets collect in the condenser bottle… but test strips flag high salts and possible perchlorates. The first batch gets filtered and labeled NOT FOR DRINK—it feeds systems, not mouths. Power drops, the heater stutters, the line freezes, and we reroute the tube across a razor-thin sun slit to keep flow alive. By the end, we’ve got stored water—but not enough—and the battery is nearly dead. Tonight decides everything. #marssurvival #spaceexploration #marsbase #scifishortfilm
