"Seattle State of Mind" is a song about living in a place that is inspirational. Dr. Don sings about Seattle and what it means to him. Dr. Don says that any place you live in, can put you in a particular "state of mind" if you desired to move to that place -- and then "did it". You did it because the thought of moving there intrigued and inspired you. Dr. Don thinks Seattle is indeed special. But he is not so pompous to think it is the only special place to be. There are many other special places to live just like your home town. There are thousands or millions of beautiful places to live in this world. Seattle is a bit unique because unusual social policies have play-out here. Dr. Don frequently gets phone calls from people asking "is everything OK in Seattle Dr. Don?". It's all in good fun and Dr. Don loves to hear from his friends and relatives all the time, even if they think he's crazy for living in Seattle. In 2024 and beyond, all of the world is driven by technology and virtual realities such as Zoom. It is still essential that we carefully choose a physical place to live. When we choose where to physically live, it is probably NOT where you already are. Dr. Don believes it enhances your life to leave the town of your upbringing. He thinks that moving to a far off locality, within the country, can really expand the possibilities in your life. Dr. Don was born in New York City and grew up in the surrounding area. It was not Dr. Don's choice to live in New York, because he was born there. But, when you find a place you like and desire to move to, the thought of that location will put you in a pleasing state of mind, hence the title of the song, "Seattle State of Mind." Dr. Don plays the synthesizer using the "B3 organ", followed by the piano. His red Gibson LPM electric guitar is played using his NUX B-8 Wireless System.
