Today (July 20, 2019) - the day I'm releasing this song, is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. After all these years, it remains to be a testament to great human effort - and that inspires me so much. I've been fascinated by space exploration for a very long time now. I wrote a song about it (called A Song About Space) - and even made a fashion collection inspired by astronaut suits and extravehicular mobility units. The Apollo program has made everyone (including me) a believer in science and in miracles. When I look up and I see the full moon - I am amazed every single time that humans have walked its surface. It's an aspirational symbol of hope for me. I wrote this song two years ago, and have had it in the backburner since then. But I thought, what better day to let the world hear "An Opportunity to Go to the Moon" than the 50th anniversary of the moon landing? It's not the most succinct title, but I think it has a touch of whimsy to it. I like it, and I hope you do too.
