For 15 years our cameras followed the youngest kids behind bars in Indiana as they made their way through their first years in prison. This video journey follows their first days behind prison walls, what it looked like as they grew up behind bars, filmed their transitions from one prison to another, watched as cellmates said goodbye to each other, and ultimately followed some of them as they fully transformed from young kids to mature young men. This complete true crime documentary is the only known video documentation of kids growing up behind bars. In the end, we see not only their time being shackled and locked up, but also their inspirational journeys to freedom and their determination to give back to society. For those who need a written update to the cases featured, please see below: Aaron Gabriel is doing very well now and is married with kids. Sheppard Harrison ended up back in prison after release and died in his cell due to complications with drugs. After release, Michael Stanley never returned to the system. Attorney Monica Foster was successful with Paul Gingerich's legal appeal. The case went all the way to the Indiana Supreme Court where the justices unanimously ruled to throw out Paul's adult conviction. The case was remanded back to the juvenile courts where he received a sentence modification. Paul ultimately served 7 years behind bars and was released. Colt Lundy also received a sentence modification (following the news that Paul's case was thrown out by the state Supreme Court, even though Colt was not a part of that legal action). His attorney was successful in convincing the court that his model behavior behind bars and the state Supreme Court ruling in Paul's favor was evidence he should not serve his full sentence. He served nearly 10 years behind bars and was released in 2019. He has done extremely well since release, has worked two full time jobs and also now works with former cellmate Miles. The two continue to give speeches around the country on matters related to juvenile justice and incarceration. It took Miles Folsom nearly 12 years and multiple lawyers to receive a sentence modification. In 2019, a newly elected prosecutor agreed to review his case, took the time to visit Miles in prison and determined his excellent behavior and participation in prison programs proved he was worthy of a second chance. He received the blessing of the original juvenile judge who sentenced Miles to 36 years to approve the modification request. In December 2020, Miles was released after 12 years behind bars. Since that time, he has given speeches around the globe on youth incarceration and the power of education. Following release, he continued his college studies and enrolled on campus at Holy Cross College in South Bend, IN. In 2022 he graduated with his Bachelor's Degree and was class valedictorian. He is also married with a son. Miles and Colt remain best friends and business partners today, and remain committed to giving back to society.
