Daft Punk - Something About Us - Bass Cover

My little tribute to Daft Punk I was introduced to Daft Punk in high school by a friend who shared with me the album Discovery, along with the animated movie that uses that album as its soundtrack. The film is phenomenal, because the only audio in it is the album. There's no dialogue or voice acting - the music does everything. This track stood out to me and became my favorite song of theirs. I think it's because I was a bit surprised when first hearing it. I wasn't expecting a powerful love song in the middle of this album full of great dance beats. I think the fact that it's placed amidst those more upbeat tracks is what makes it so special - it's a moment of reflection surrounded by action. It was fun to learn how to make a drumset out of my bass - many thanks to Andrew Huang who I've learned much from by watching his excellent videos on sampling and using Ableton.
