We did a study that asked patients how much a surgeon was paid to perform a total knee or hip replacement surgery. Patients overestimated what surgeons were paid. A 2013 NY Times paper quoted that in the US the cost of a total knee or hip replacement surgery ranged from $30,000 - $112,000.
