After the fire fell… Elijah ran. In 1 Kings, we meet a prophet who had just witnessed one of the greatest miracles in Scripture — fire from heaven in 1 Kings — and yet, in the very next chapter, he collapses under exhaustion, fear, and discouragement. He sits under a broom tree and says, “I have had enough, Lord.” (1 Kings 19:4) He falls asleep in despair… and God doesn’t rebuke him. God sends an angel with bread and water (1 Kings 19:5–8). God lets him rest. And then, not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire — but in a gentle whisper. (1 Kings 19:11–12) This song is for anyone who has: • Done everything “right”… and still felt empty. • Poured out for others… and quietly burned out. • Preached faith… while struggling to feel it. The whisper wasn’t the end of Elijah’s story. God recommissioned him: “Go back the way you came…” (1 Kings 19:15) Sometimes obedience doesn’t end in applause. Sometimes it ends in a cave. But God still meets us there. 📖 Scripture References *1 Kings 18:36–39 – Fire from heaven *1 Kings 19:4 – “I have had enough, Lord.” *1 Kings 19:5–8 – Bread, water, and rest *1 Kings 19:11–12 – The gentle whisper *1 Kings 19:15 – “Go back the way you came.” 🙏 Lord, For the one who feels tired but faithful… For the one who did what You asked and still feels empty… Meet them in the quiet. Feed them where they are weak. Speak gently to their weary heart. And when the time is right, Give them strength to rise and go again. Amen.
