2025 G63 “Performance”: Louder V8, Faster Body, The Best Ever G Class!

Two cars I felt were just mild facelifts, in both looks and performance: but boy was I wrong!! The little changes have come together for a HUGE effect in the new 465 G from AMG — mainly with insane new dynamics thanks to the new suspension, a crazy fast new launch control, and an improved exhaust note as the cherry on top! #MercedesAMG have pulled out all the stops on the new G63. The big news is the AMG Active ride control suspension - not unlike what we found on the new AMG GT and SL 63 - and is a game changer for G Wagon. It gets adaptive shock absorbers with Hydraulic connections, independently on each 4 wheels. This system can regulate the spring rate per wheel on the fly, so it can go fully rigid in corners then loosen on straight roads! The V8 also sees an upgrade thanks to the mild hybrid boost, giving an extra 20HP and 200NM in each case for a total of 585HP + 20HP more, and 850NM +200NM! But the big improvement is the 0-60 time of 4.3 (which we smash in the video) thanks to the new race start function in the performance pack car! We’ll also take the Off-Road G63 on a rally proving course in Montpelier, to show the active ride system off roading better than before. The new G63 gets even more customisation thanks to the Manufaktur and all new “Kundenwunsch” program. This program allows for complete control on car spec, from paint to sample PTS, to custom interiors and more. I’ll show an example car they had on display here for you to see.
