[HD] CSX M415 and P001 (OCS) through Ashland, VA 12-3-25

On the night of December 2nd, we heard that CSX P001 was leaving Washington D.C. and heading South for Waycross. CSX P001 departed Washington D.C. Union Station just before 10 PM. Because it was still facing North, they ran it for about a mile up the NEC onto the Capital Sub, then it took the wye at Hyattsville where it came back South by Benning, then on the Alexandria Extension onto the RF&P Sub. Even though it was a night run, I was still down for it. I got to Ashland around 12:30 AM and also met Railfan Andy and David Hawkins there (both out for the same reason). We kept tabs on P001 as it made its night voyage down the RF&P, though we also saw that M415 was ahead of him.. (0:00): CSX M415, which we thought was P001 at first, passes Ashland on Track 2 with a fairly light load. ES44AH 959 AC4400CW 238 (5:00): The train we've been waiting for! CSX P001, following 415, rolls by on Track 3 at 1:05 AM with those beautiful F40PHs and one of the Holiday Express boxcars (would be rad if they had the other one too)! It was nice to see those fancy LED lights on the boxcar at night. The stuff we go out at 1 AM in freezing weather for..
