It is known as Gurudwara Sahib Bilaspur and holds historical and religious importance in the region. The serene surroundings provide a perfect escape from the hustle of daily life. It provides a beautiful view of the nearby hills and natural landscapes. Architecture: The architecture of the Gurudwara reflects traditional Sikh design, with a white facade and a central dome. It is simple yet spiritually uplifting. Community Events: The Gurudwara organizes regular events, such as Kirtan (devotional singing), Paath (scriptural recitations), and Gurpurabs (celebrations of Sikh Gurus' birth anniversaries). It serves as not only a place of worship but also a hub for fostering unity and charity in the community. Gurdwara Sri Bhuda Sahib, located in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, holds significant historical importance in Sikh history. In May 1665, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, accompanied by his family—including Mata Gujri Ji and the young Guru Gobind Singh Ji—visited Bilaspur to attend the mourning ceremonies for Raja Dip Chand, the ruler of Bilaspur. During this visit, the dowager Rani Champa of Bilaspur expressed her desire for Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji to establish a settlement near her state. Honoring her request, Guru Ji purchased land for 500 rupees, encompassing the villages of Lodhipur, Mianpur, and Sahota. On this land, he founded a new village named Chakk Nanaki, in honor of his mother, Mata Nanaki Ji. This settlement later became renowned as Anandpur Sahib, a pivotal center for Sikhism. The original town of Bilaspur, including the site of Gurdwara Sri Bhuda Sahib, was submerged in 1954 due to the creation of the Gobind Sagar reservoir as part of the Bhakra Dam project. Consequently, the historic Gurdwara is no longer accessible. However, the administration allocated land in the newly established Bilaspur town, where a new Gurdwara was constructed to continue serving the Sikh community and preserving the historical legacy of the original site. HISTORICAL GURUDWARAS Today, Gurdwara Sri Bhuda Sahib stands as a testament to the rich Sikh heritage and the enduring legacy of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji's contributions to the region.
