The Cylinder Effect Hits CM Siddaramaiah story has sparked fresh debate in Karnataka politics. Amid reports of LPG shortages affecting hotels and businesses in several cities, a new controversy has emerged involving Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.According to statements from the president of the Mysuru Hotel Association, Narayana Gowda, more than 40 LPG cylinders were reportedly arranged for a temple fair (Jatre) in Varuna constituency. The event took place at Varakodu village, where a large religious fair was held and gas cylinders were used for preparing prasada for devotees. The issue has drawn attention because many hotels and small food businesses in Karnataka have recently complained about difficulties in getting LPG cylinders. Traders and hotel owners say the supply shortage is affecting daily operations. During a public statement, Narayana Gowda claimed that the cylinders were arranged after discussions with district officials before the fair, suggesting that the Chief Minister’s influence may have helped ensure the supply. He also appealed to the government to provide more regular LPG supply to hotels. According to industry estimates, Mysuru alone uses around 4,000 LPG cylinders daily in the hospitality sector.
