Using biological predators in chrysanthemum cultivation is quite a challenge. There's a short growing period and you therefore have to build up an army of biological predators in a short time to combat thrips or aphids. Thrips control in particular is a major challenge. David van Tuijl explains how they have made significant progress this year in the biological control of thrips in chrysanthemums. Feeding Montdorensis with Power Food has really marked the breakthrough for biological control of thrips in chrysanthemum. However, it was not yet possible all year round because of the increasing numbers of thrips in the summer and autumn. As a result, they still had to chemically correct. "Spraying is not our goal, but we can't let our crops be eaten either. We have to protect our crops," says David van Tuijl. "Royal Brinkman recommended that we also use the new AgroBío predatory bug Orius with Power Food Plus. Orius also works against the adult thrips. "With the use of Orius we can now biologically survive the winter." Read the experience of David van Tuijl in the following article: https://royalbrinkman.com/customer-st...
