A conference was held at Nishtar Medical College and Hospital Multan on the topic of "New Treatment Strategies for Hepatitis C and Treatment of Tuberculosis in Patients with Acute and Chronic Liver Disease". A large number of experts (physicians, gastroenterologists, pulmonogists, and pathologists) from all over the country participated in this conference. Professor of Medicine, Doctor Ghulam Mustafa chaired the conference. Expert panel for questions and answers included Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa (Medicine), Professor Doctor Ijaz Hussain Malik (Medicine), Professor Doctor Zubair Shaheen (pulmonologist) and Dr. Zahid Azam (gastroenterologist) from Agha Khan University Karachi. It was a wonderful conference on ATT and liver disease. The incidence of tuberculosis (TB) is more in the patients with cirrhosis of liver.
