Hazrat Nizamuddin was ecstatic listening to Hazrat Amir Khusro praising the lord, who in turn loved and was deeply devoted to his mentor. Hazrat Amir Khusro wrote in a simple style in the language of ordinary people, loaded with mystical meaning, the qawali. Sama or a music concert where people from different walks of life come and listen, was a regular feature at Hazrat Nizamuddin’s courtyard. He felt that the joy from Sama cured all anxiety. Sama was spiritual nourishment and from the heart. This tradition continues till today at the Dargah Sharif.
