Bridal Veil Falls-(Winter Hike?)🤔-Rocky Mountain National Park

December 23, 2025-Bridal Veil Falls RMNP. Our first official winter hike but it didn't seem like winter with temperatures well above normal for the last two weeks. This is always a more relaxed hike any time of year. We encountered mostly dry trails with intermittent icy areas. That was until the last climb up the granite where we encountered steep slopes and slippery ice. Dave's micro spikes had both broken and he had to find a different route up. (Always check your micro spikes before heading out.) A new lesson. Bridal Veil Falls was almost completely thawed out with only one veil of ice remaining. It was still a beautiful day in the park. 6.4 miles and 1054 feet of elevation gain.
