The RAe 4/8 1021 “Churchill Arrow” started a charter trip for a birthday on the first Advent, December 1, 2024, from Zurich main station via Oerlikon, Kloten, Wetzikon, Rapperswil to Walenstadt and then via Ziegelbrücke, Pfäffikon SZ, Thalwil, Kilchberg ZH back to Zurich main station. The RAe 4/8 1021, known as the “Churchill Arrow”, is a historic railcar of the Swiss Federal Railways, which was built in 1939 on the occasion of the Swiss National Exhibition. It became famous in 1946 when it transported Sir Winston Churchill through Switzerland, earning it its iconic name.
