A pigeon pair courts beside their older nestlings inside a nest box in Israel — and this experienced pair has already produced eight consecutive clutches. Rock pigeons (Columba livia) are capable of breeding multiple times per year, often beginning courtship and preparing the next clutch even while older young are still present. Courtship displays such as bowing, cooing, and close-contact behaviors signal pair bonding and reproductive readiness. In favorable conditions with reliable food, pigeons can maintain almost continuous breeding cycles. This live nest box moment reveals how urban and semi-urban birds maximize reproductive output under supportive environmental conditions. This video is meant to document the lives of wild animals so that we can learn more for both educational & research purposes and serve as an aid for the species conservation effort. We do not set up/ stage or intervene but only document the lives of wild animals. Please donate to support conservation and live nest monitoring: 👉 https://my.israelgives.org/en/fundme/... 🔬 What does this mean? (Quick science note) Pigeons can lay a new clutch shortly after the previous chicks fledge, especially in stable environments with abundant food. Overlapping breeding cycles are common and allow rapid population growth when conditions are favorable. 🎥 Filmed by Charter Group Birdcams Led by Dr. Motti Charter from The Shamir Research Institute and the School of Environmental Studies, University of Haifa. #PigeonNest #WildlifeLivestream #UrbanBirds #NestBoxCam #BirdBehavior #NatureEducation
