The second part of our Kinver explore explores a rare and slightly mysterious ruin in the heart of a very popular tourist area. There is little known about this ruin, only that it may have been built by the renowned engineer James Brindley for his daughter and as test bed his various engineering inventions, if this is true this would push its date of construction to around the mid 1700s whilst James was alive. It is also quite possible that it was built later in the 1800s for the family of the nearby manor house as a private get away and folly for their family. Whatever the truth, this is a fantastic and rare surviving folly of unknown date and time.
