So the seas were forecast to be quite lumpy on this particular day with waves of around 2 metres with a swell present. Although it can get a lot worse I knew it still wouldn't be pleasant around the South side of Berry Head away from the shelter of Torbay. There were gusts of over 40MPH mixed with heavy rain showers as well as poor visibility (hence the camera shaking in places). I asked around the previous night to find out if there were any trawlers planning on braving the weather and leaving the security of their home of Brixham and there was. BM-27 "OUR MIRANDA" was set to sail at 08:00am so I knew I would brave the weather to see her steam out of Torbay and into the full force of the weather as she rounds Berry Head. She starts off in calm seas but it gets increasingly rougher as she leaves the shelter of Torbay causing her to pitch and heave. As always I have a huge respect for fisherman especially those of Brixham for braving whatever Mother Nature throws at them knowing they may not return home to their families again just to put the finest fish on our tables.
