Northern Lights Village Pyhä - Winter activities in Finnish Lapland

At the beginning of this year, I worked on a video project in Finnish Lapland with the german tour operator Wolters Rundreisen. We stayed at the Northern Lights Village in Pyhä to capture the overall accommodation and activities they offer 📷 There are three Northern Lights Villages in Finland, with Pyhä being the newest one (it opened in winter season 2023/2024) The NLVs are known for their glass roofs, through which you can watch the northern lights at night (provided there is strong activity and a clear sky). So yes, you need a little bit of luck to actually see them, but one night I did wake up at 2am and I could clearly see them moving while lying in bed. Of course I then went outside to take some photos/videos. You can also activate an alarm that goes off in your room at night when there are northern lights visible. It's a magical and unforgettable experience when you see the aurora borealis for the first time 💚 There's a variety of activities the village offers. From husky sledding, reindeer safaris, snowmobile tours, Aurora hunting, ice fishing and much more! You can easily spend 1-2 weeks there and you won't get bored. Also, if you stay longer, you got better chances of seeing the northern lights 🤞🏼 I really enjoyed my stay there and can only recommend it if you're planning to travel to Finnish Lapland in winter.
