Testing the Sportster 883 Superlow on Clocktower Harley-Davidson's season opening day: As I own the predecessor of this bike, a 2008 883 Low, I was curious if there are any differences in handling and there are some differences: 1. The suspension struts seem to be a little bit better altough I would wish longer ones like they use in the Iron. To my mind there is no use in making a bike that low when the Iron has got a seat height low enough even for short persons. The disadvantage of the hard damping and the low lean angle of this configuration weighs, in my opinion, than the advantage of the the low seat height. 2. There is a bigger tank which is great as it improves the range from 200+ km to about 300 km. 3. The seat has been improved slightly. 4. The front wheel is now smaller what makes the bike more agile. 5. The handlebar is different and I like the comfortable shape of the old one much more as it provides a much more comfortable position of the hands. 6. The gearbox was probably the most smooth shifting I ever experienced on a Harley 7. The wheels now have got alloy rims instead of spoke wheels. The lesson is clear: I would, of course, change my bike for this one as it has got a much lower mileage but if I had to decide between two brand new bikes I would probably stick with the older model as it looks way better with the smaller tank, the swung handlebar and the spoke wheels.
