Jim eats OATS like his Horses!!!

Jim eats oats just like his horses!! Today we are showing what Jim & the horses are eating for breakfast!! Brenda’s Granola Mix together: 8 cups oatmeal of choice 2 cups nuts of choice- I use walnuts, pecans and almonds 1 cup sunflower seeds ¼ tsp or pinch of salt 1 TBSP cinnamon Then stir together well and add to above ingredients: ¾ C each of maple syrup or honey & oil (I usually use olive oil but whatever you have or melted butter) When everything is well incorporated, place on parchment paper on a large cookie sheet and place in the oven at 350 for 12-15 minutes. It should look like it’s starting to dry out and feel like granola. Give it a few more minutes if it doesn’t. Then I shut the oven off and just let it set for a while- at least until it’s fully cooled. Then place in an air tight container- it keeps well. Note- I use a very large cookie sheet- line a jelly roll pan. The recipe couple be easily halved Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training!
